- Song: Don't Trust Me
- Artist: 3Oh!3
- Album: Want
- Rating: 4 Stars
The song is easily recognizable as a pop song from the synthesizer and lyrical content. Don’t Trust Me starts by describing a girl out for a night of partying: a rich, straightedge girl in a black dress. The song talks about how you can’t trust her, and that she just wants to party with the band. She is willing to do anything for the opportunity, and is pretty much stalking them. As far as lyrics go, this is not the kind of song that one should spend hours poring over. There aren’t really any metaphors, and it shouldn’t be taken too seriously. The best part of the song is where they sing “Shush girl! Shut your lips! Do the Helen Keller, and talk with your hips!”
The song sounds almost like it should be on a Metro Station* album from the style of the music to the lyrical content, but 3Oh!3 has taken the song to the next level. It is well performed, and sounds better than most of Metro Station’s songs. There is a certain indescribable depth that one can feel when listening to the song which only adds to the excellence of their performance.
