Whether or not you agree with the band's politics, Green Day has found what will most certainly be a hit with their most recent single, 21 Guns.
The song is written as a ballad, and one can find similarities between it and their other hit single, Boulevard of Broken Dreams*, in the slow, yet energetic feel of Green Day's signature guitar style. One of the wonderful things about this song is that it is open do so many different interperetations, from that of a pacifistic ballad, to a song about wanting to give up when life is at its hardest.
21 Guns was executed perfectly, and love or leave the pacifistic message, one cannot help but be filled with respect and awe at their talent and performance.
